ImpossibleFX Blog v3

I think I’m done with the new blog site. With the last version of the Wordpress-enabled site (I called it v2) came an irresponsibility on my part of basically overloading the site with too many widgets, plug-ins, graphics and things that slowed the site down. I was tired of that and the bigness of the site in general and decided to split everything up into subdomains. I had already been consolidating my other websites into subdomains here at iFX with inexpensive URLs guiding the way because individually hosting ALL my sites would be expensive and tedious. I’m hosted now completely at Bluehost and they’ve been very, very good to me thus far.

Now, iFX opens with a splash page that demonstrates the most important aspects of my internet presence: my cinematography (a demo reel and resumé, of sorts), my photography (to sell artwork and pimp myself out as a freelance photog), my blog (this bit) and my music (I’ve been known to compose and perform for my self and for movies).

Because my cinema and stills sites were already consolidated locally, the biggest step was to move the entire iFX blog to its own subdomain, something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. Wordpress core made it easy and I just had to do some tinkering (old broken links, etc) and find a theme.

None of the prefab themes did anything for me so I decided to MAKE A NEW THEME FROM SCRATCH which I’m still sort of doing. I borrowed the comments code from K2 but everything else is me piddling around in the Wordpress Theme Editor, doing it live.

I hope the site moves faster and does it’s thing better and easier than the bloated v2.

So…I give you ImpossibleFX Blog v3. Enjoy!
