Hey, man. I remember ’97: it was the year I graduated high school, bought my first camera, my first car, and the year I took the plunge into credit card debt. Ahhh, memories.

My film race directorial debut! Congrats to the cast and crew of this year’s film dash competition and to all the teams who competed. Plus awesome recognition to Monica Ruiz who earned Best Actress in EoG2! Cheers!

From recent House episode “Private Lives”: House, Wilson and Chase go speed dating. Hilarity ensues. I am continually impressed at the cinematic quality of this show (it’s my favorite since Ronald D. Moore’s Battlestar Galactica). Gale Tattersall’s cinematography deserves kudos and ASC recognition, and Amy Fleming’s editing is ballsy (yeah, I know: irony). Great show, pretty decent episode.

This week’s House episode had a cool little open with some sweet, sweet “powers of 10″ flying-through-the-universe visual effects. Check it out. Note the clever sound design: at the end, the final chord of the theme song is played backwards. House is on FOX Network Monday nights at 8pm EST.

I haven’t purchased a digital SLR since my 20D in early 2006. This past Saturday I made the 30 minute trip to Harlingen to pick up the only Canon EOS 550D (Rebel T2i) in the area. I’m going to shoot my next short film with it. It’s awesome. Check out this video clip I shot with it this morning:
